The Counseling
Journey
|
 |
| Counseling is a process
that is unique to the individual seeking help. There are times in
our lives that it really just helps to talk about transitions that
are occurring. These transitions could be associated with a loss
of some kind, or a new beginning. Sometimes it involves a crisis
that has turned our lives upside down either in our own life or
the life of a loved one. Counseling in safe environment provides
for an opportunity to put things into perspective, to remove obstacles
that get in the way of personal growth and to make decisions that
provide wellness in one's life during these unbalanced times. |
| |
| There are also times
that one has recognized they are depressed, moody or suffering from
a sense of anxiety about ones life, an uncertainty that makes
it hard to function in wellness each day. This is an opportunity
to allow for healing and encouragement, to learn new ways of thinking
that create balance and freedom in our lives. These feelings are
normal responses to abnormal events in our lives sometimes, and
are treatable!! Counseling also provides an opportunity to evaluate
all areas of ones life: spiritual, emotional, cognitive and
physical. |

Desiring Spiritually-Focused
Counseling? |
 |
| For people of faith who desire Christian
counseling, it can be an opportunity to explore how pain has entered
into our lives and robbed us of freedom and joy that we know we
can experience in a healthy spiritual life. Counseling can be a
journey toward emotional health offering us a chance to become free
of obstacles that, because of the pain and hurt in our lives, have
hindered our access to the freedom and joy we can experience through
our Identity in Christ. Counseling can be a vessel that will open
the doors to our emotional, cognitive, physical and spiritual health
by our Creator. Our response to the pain in our lives can be from
unhealthy defense mechanisms that block our wellness. By learning
more about where these unhealthy patterns came from, we're are able
to begin the process of healing, the process of learning new healthy
ways to deal with our pain of life. This leads us into freedom in
Christ through understanding and experiencing the power of His Truth
in our lives. |

|
Confidential
and Comfortable Environment |
 |
| Sometimes it takes a confidential
and safe atmosphere in which we can explore our pain and struggles
to allow us to move out of the rut that we have found ourselves
in and move toward freedom and health. |
| |
| It is my hope that when you come
to me for counseling services that you will sense a therapeutic
environment that celebrates your uniqueness. Your desire for freedom
will be pursued and your healing is my upmost concern. I have a
wonderful referral network of professionals and services that I
can recommend if needed. Please feel free to call me and find out
more. |

Our Mission
The mission of Miller Counseling Services, P. C. is to provide compassionate clinical counseling services for adults, adolescents, and children in order to promote healing in the whole person: emotional, spiritual, cognitive, physical, and relational.
It is our desire to help individuals, couples and families improve relationships, find balance, and seek wellness in order to realize full potential and purpose in their lives.
We offer a safe place to foster rest, renewal and healing in mind, body and spirit. We encourage restoration within one’s self and within relationships. We hearten the renewal of the soul that comes from a deeper, healthier understanding of self and how one is uniquely designed by God for a purpose in this gift of life. Learning to change destructive thinking patterns and replacing them with truth about self will bring about healthier emotions and behavior. We encourage an individual to discover a more contemplative side, promoting healing from within through learning to rest in their spirit and mind. For those who desire to explore their Christian faith within their journey toward health and healing, we can offer a Christian perspective in therapy. |
